title: Welcome to Wiki Forge
tags: [About]

Wiki Forge is a free, ad-free wiki platform for communities: fans of games, shows and books on **Fan Forge**, and people who share a craft or hobby on **Hobby Forge**. One engine runs both; each community gets its own wiki at its own address, like `apex.fanforge.wiki`.

These docs explain what Wiki Forge is, why it works the way it does, and how to write, build and run a wiki on it. They're a wiki too: if something's wrong or missing, suggest an edit.

Wiki Forge is in **pre-alpha**: a handful of people are testing it, and anything here can change. See [[What we're working on]].
